I've taken numerous courses on this subject, but the case studies in this one were the best - they were specific and relevant to my role in our school and church.
"Learned a Lot..."
 I have taken several sexual and child abuse online trainings and this one is by far the best session to date. I appreciated the depth of the exercises and examples. Job well done. This is a great resource for people who intend to work with children. I teach and I still think that those I work with could benefit from this as a refresher course. Sometimes you become a little lax with your observation standards over time...this is a wake up call for all those who work with children.I think the vignettes clarifying the law governing reporting of sexual behavior by different age bands was very useful. Was also impressed with the exposition of what happens when a Child Protection Report is made.THANKS VERY MUCH. Every year I think I do not need to go through this "again" but I always learn or reinforce something important. The case studies are much more realistic and helpful than just reading the rules. It shows how they really apply!Thank you. This course was very interesting. I especially was drawn to it because it is religiously morally correct and civilly accurate.Just wanted to thank you for creating this learning material for all parents and volunteers. There's a few things that I was not aware of in regards to other clues to look out for other kids that are being abused. I also was not aware of the forms that needed to be filled out. Thank you.This course should leave no doubt in a person's mind as to what is and what is not acceptable.Although the definitions of child abuse and neglect were extremely useful in the comprehension of the overall idea, the examples were key in providing a clear picture of the kinds of scenarios that we might actually be faced with one day. Thanks!In all honesty, I thought this was going to be a pain; I did not intend on learning anything. However, I learned a few new things and even took some notes. Thanks.

"Better than Classroom..."
I learned more today than I ever have sitting at those meetings in the past, filled to the brim with other teachers and lay people. Thanks.The ability to take this course on-line this year is greatly appreciated. With two working parents and two children with different social calendars it is much easier to go on-line rather than attempt to attend a specific evening meeting at the school or Parish. Thank you.I was able to learn more from this course then from actually going to an instructional class. I appreciate the detail and supportive information.Having the information in print is much better than having a person lecture in front of a group--concentration can be focused. I appreciated the links to the police and sheriff.The course is very good--so much better than the classes in person! I liked being able to stop and go back later.I have done many online trainings and this by far has been the easiest and most informative. Able to attain much more information than in a classroom setting. Good job!This course was much better then attending a two hour class that quickly reviews the mandates of reporting.Great way to learn and understand the importance of recognizing abuse and neglect. I actually gain knowledge from taking this course. I believe this is much better than sitting in an auditorium listening to someone lecture on the subject. I truly believe this should be a mandated course for all individuals who have any kind of contact with children. Thank you.Easy to do from a pc...much better than driving to a meeting outside of the home with a guest speaker. This tool should be used to prepare parents for children receiving the sacraments.This surely beats sitting through hours of a class with a dull teacher who probably doesn't want to be there! Bravo for a great on-line course! |
"Much More Interesting..."
This presentation and interaction was better than I expected. It is very engaging and helpful in allowing you to "try again" or understand all scenarios. I think it will be very successful and I will be sure to
promote its use. Thank you. This course was very interesting. I especially was drawn to it because it is religiously morally correct and civilly accurate.... the course was easy to follow, the directions very clear and concise. I liked having test questions with the answer immediately following with corrections and explanations. I liked how the content was tailored to our positions and situations. I would give the course my highest recommendations.To be honest the course seemed very lengthy in the beginning, but as I went further I found it very interesting and helpful. I really like the fact that we can log in and out at anytime since it is hard to find time to do all of the at once. The case studies are really good...This was a great online course. Great interactive learning!This course is excellent because you have to read the entire course and complete mini quizzes to challenge your understanding and I did not find this course tedious as I would other sources. Thank you.Very valuable insight. I was actually surprised that there was quite a bit of information that I was either unaware of or misinformed about. I enjoyed this course. Thank you! I found this online course more useful and comprehensive than the safe environment trainings given at the parish. This course demands accountability for the information, not just presence at a session. Thanks!This training was far more effective for me than our previous video training. "Very Easy to Use..."
As a former online course developer, I thought the course was very well-designed from a technical aspect … all in all, a good learning exercise.It was a lot easier then expected. I liked the examples used, very real. I liked the fact, if a question was answered incorrectly, we went back, and with additional information, a second chance to answer was given. Thank you.I thought the course was easy to follow, the directions very clear and concise. I liked the idea of having test questions with the answer immediately following with corrections and explanations. I also thought the length was good. "Really Convenient..."
I have to do several learning modules at the hospital I work every year. This is extremely much better than the in person learning session last year. This is much more interesting and at my convenience. Thank you.This was an excellent and convenient course! It was a VAST improvement over the course presented at the school two years ago, which was appallingly unprofessional.I am visually impaired and use a screen reader with my computer. The screen reader was able to read most of the text, but I still needed to use my mouse with some of the questions. I have the sense that you guys are really trying to make this course accessible, and I appreciate that!The course was helpful and easy to use. I appreciate the fact that one can start and stop. It is helpful not to have to complete it in one sittingI really appreciated that I was able to log off and on and take the course in my own schedule.Great to be able to do the training at home. This was actually great follow up to my job in a public school, too.I really appreciate that it was available on line. Teachers may get the summer off, but I have had plenty to do that relates to school, and have yet to take time off just for myself. So I think on-line courses are great and very convenient for those of us who are workaholics.Thanks you made it easy and I could do it on my time.Great training and nice to have it online. A lot of it is common sense,however, I did learn a lot of new things. Thanks!This makes it so much easier for me to do on line. "Very Informative..."
I have been through numerous trainings on mandated reporting in my profession as a public school teacher; and numerous trainings on abuse prevention as a volunteer CYO coach, Special Olympics Volunteer and Cub Scout Leader. This has been the best. It is comprehensive, gives many "what if" examples and the method of delivery makes sure EVERYONE gets the same in-depth information. I am impressed.I thought I knew the basics of abuse/neglect signs, but this course gave me an extensive education covering areas I was not aware of. Great course!As a first time teacher and long time

Thank you!As a mandatory reporter in my teaching position, I have never had such a clear cut, informative presentation. It would be great if something similar could be mandated for public school teachers.Very helpful. I was familiar w/this subject (I worked in law enf. for over 10yrs.) but this was very informative. It was a good refresher course. Thank you. The course was very helpful. It is hard to believe that some children have been abused/neglected. Now I know how I can try to protect them.ALL teachers, other employees, and volunteers (including parents)who work with or around kids in ANY capacity and setting should be REQUIRED to take this course--or one very similar to it! Besides being a religious education teacher in my parish, I am also a public school teacher--29 years--and have had to report suspected child abuse many times over the years. I thought I knew it all! Ha, ha! Your program is a great refresher course, AND I learned a few new things! Thank you very much, and keep up the good work.This was a good program. It even taught this old warhorse (I have been teaching for 31 years) some new things. Bravo!
